Summary: Objective: to evaluate before and after the use of an educational technology in game form according to the level of knowledge for self-care and the level of anxiety and stress of patients in the preoperative period of myocardial revascularization. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional intervention study. Research was performed with 30 preoperative myocardial revascularization patients admitted to two hospitals, one public and one philanthropic. The data collection period was from May to November 2016. Four instruments were used: Form I structured with open questions based on the Betty Neuman Theory related to sociodemographic data and the evaluation of the patient's discomforts before hospitalization; Trait-State Anxiety Inventory (IDATE); The questionnaire I, List of Symptoms of Stress-LSS / VAS; Questionnaire II, Evaluation of the degree of knowledge about the care and procedures in the pre and postoperative period of cardiac surgery. In the analysis, the SPSS Statistics version 21 program was used. Results: It was observed that, after the educational game application, there was a significant increase in the patient's level of knowledge for self-care and reduction of anxiety levels of stress. Conclusions: The use of educational technology contributed significantly to the reduction of anxiety and stress levels and to the increase of the level of knowledge of the patients regarding pre and postoperative care of myocardial revascularization.
