Summary: Introduction: Keeping a healthy life style is an essential factor for health preservation. This study aims at meeting the demands of a federal education institution, which are: not having a formal health promotion program and the struggling to equaly reach all employees at the campi distributed in all the state with information on health promotion and quality of life. Objective: Organize a health and well-being promotion program for the employees of a federal education institution. Methodology: This is an applied research of technological development, performed in a federal education institution in three steps: 1) Diagnosis research and evaluation, employing a sociodemographic questionnaire, the fantastic life style questionnaire and the WHOQOL-Bref quality of life evaluation instrument; 2) planning the items and actions of the program; 3) evaluation of the health promotion program for employees of the employees’ health care coordinating body of the federal education institution. Results: In the first step it was observed that 42% of employees were from 30 to 39 years old and the majority (72%) was Married / Stable Union / Live together. Regarding the level of scholarship, 87.7% of employees were post-graduated. Regarding the BMI, it was observed that 41.4% were classified as eutrophic, followed by 38.5% of overweight and 15.1% of obesity level I. Most of the employees demonstrated a life styled classified as very good or good, with respectively 49.5% and 34.4% of the total of employees. The most affected items related to the life style were: physical activity and behavior type. Out of the four fields evaluated, it was observed an average of: physical 67.2; psicological 67.1, social relations 65.6, and environment 64.5, demonstrating that in all fields there is insatisfaction with the quality of life. In the second step of the research development, the items of the health and well-being promotion program were created based on the health promotion module, contained in the Human Resources Administration Integrated System of the Federal Government. The items include: Goals, Coverage and target public; Targets, mission and vision of the program; Methods and techniques employed (promotion, marketing); Content and activities offered; and visual identity of the program. The organization of the Program resulted in a document of 20 sheets, with visual identity. 11 items were elaborated, such as: Program title, Pictures used in the document, Logo, Visual identity (letters, background, colors), Targets, Mission, Vision, Goals, topics of interest, content sources and Activities/Actions of the Program. The name of the program is Viver Bem Ifes (Live Well Ifes), and it is a managerial technology to promote life style and quality of life, aimed at orienting and encouraging employees to adopt healthy life habits, promoting the health sector’s action calendar for the employees of the intitute, and promoting the information resulted from epidemiologic researchs performed in the institution, from issues emerged from dayby-day experiences and topics related to the health agenda. And in the third step it was realized an evaluation of the items of the program with the employees of the employees health sector of the institution. All items evaluated achieved the global content validation index superior to 0.8, resulting in their validation, being accepted the text improvements proposed by the judges and consolidating the final document of the health promotion program. Product: The development of a health and well-being promotion program for employees of a federal education institute. Conclusion: This study resulted in the formalization of a health promotion program for employees of a federal education institution. It also enabled identifying the sociodemographic characteristics, life style and quality of life of the federal institution employees, showing the most affected fields, and employing the information provided on the organization of the program. This research has the potential to generate impact and be applied at local, regional and national levels. Hopefully, this program will benefit the health promotion of the institution employees, as well as contribute to stimulate the implementation of other health programs. It will also encourage other federal institutions and other departments of different government areas to create health promotion strategies for their employees.
