Summary: Introduction: The nursing process in caring for children and their families in hospital helps to solve real or potential problems, to reduce risks and damages that may arise from hospital care. Thus, it is important to invest in the development of educational tools that can contribute to the teaching of the clinical practice of nurses and nursing students for qualified care for hospitalized children. Objectives: Develop the content of an application to support the teaching-learning process of the nursing process for nurses, students and nursing teachers about the child hospitalized for gastrointestinal and cardiopulmonary disorders; develop and evaluate the application. Methodology: It is an applied research of technological development, organized in three moments: 1) Elaboration of the application content, from the following phases: Identification and construction of the NANDA I and CIPE® nursing diagnoses for children hospitalized for gastrointestinal disorders and cardiopulmonary by means of a literature review; Selection of results and nursing interventions; Construction of nursing procedure histograms; Organization of case studies. 2) Construction of the application following the User-Centered Design method in four stages: Definition of requirements and elaboration of the conceptual map of the application; Generation of implementation and prototyping alternatives; Tests; and Implementation; and 3) Evaluation of the application's content with specialist nurses in pediatrics. The search for judges occurred through snowball sampling. Results: The diagnoses found in the review were: impaired spontaneous ventilation and ineffective breathing pattern; impaired gas exchange and ineffective airway clearance; constipation, diarrhea and dysfunctional gastrointestinal motility; decreased cardiac output, activity intolerance, ineffective tissue perfusion, excessive fluid volume, hyperthermia and acute pain. And the diagnoses related to the family were: deficit in the family's knowledge about the disease, ineffective coping and impaired paternity or motherhood. 21 case studies were prepared in NANDA I and 21 by CIPE®, which were related to 20 NOC and 21 CIPE® results, with 67 CIPE® interventions being elaborated, and 28 NIC interventions and 92 nursing activities, distributed in NHB de Horta. Product: The application “CuidarTechPed”, has a content that, according to the judges' evaluation, is reliable, adequate and efficient, which integrates the necessary elements for the application of the nursing process to the hospitalized child due to gastrointestinal and cardiovascular disorders, organized by human needs basic, bringing “Case Studies” that stimulate the exercise of diagnostic reasoning about the main Nursing Diagnoses, Results and Interventions CIPE® and NANDA-I, in addition to providing instructional support in the execution of the most exercised nursing procedures in this area for effectiveness of the care process. Conclusion: The application can be used by students or nursing professionals to clarify doubts, assist in diagnostic reasoning and decision making, based on classifications specific to the profession, and also have the potential to facilitate the planning of care for hospitalized children, highlighting the participation and the centrality of the family as an active co-participant in this care.
