Summary: Hemophilia is a hemorrhagic disease characterized by deficiency or
absence of coagulation factor VIII or IX. Therapeutic treatment is based on the
administration of coagulation factors. In this sense, the National Hereditary
Coagulopathies Program provides for the intravenous self-infusion of the coagulation
factor, by the person with hemophilia or by the relative, to carry out the treatment at
home. For this, the person with hemophilia should participate in training on the
application of the coagulation factor intravenously. Thus, the researcher saw, in the
Professional Master´s Degree, the development of educational technologies aimed at
providing the development of skills and knowledge for home care. This project was
elaborated following the line of research Care in nursing in the human development
process and was developed together with professionals from the institution.
Objectives: To develop and validate educational technologies on intravenous
coagulation factor infusion for home care of people with hemophilia. Methodology:
Methodological study carried out in three stages: development of educational
technologies (booklet and infographic); validation of content and appearance by
judges and appearance by people with hemophilia. The content of educational
technologies was elaborated on a scientific basis, through literature review and
supported by the precepts of Vygotsky´s Socio-Interactionist Theory. In the validation
step with judges, the Delphi technique was used in two rounds using the Content
Validity Index with an agreement greater than 0.80. For validation with a target
audience, the level of agreement of positive responses greater than or equal to 80%
was considered. Results / Products: Two products were developed: educational
booklet and infographic, with step-by-step action, with guidance on home intravenous
infusion of the coagulation factor to people with hemophilia. The booklet had a global
Content Validity Index of 0.88 in the first round and 0.98 in the second. The
infographic presented 0.88 in the first round and 0.97 in the second. In the validation
with the target audience, the level of agreement for positive responses was over
80%. It should be noted that educational technologies are unprecedented, centered
on the real and potential peculiarities of people with hemophilia. Conclusion: The
products of this research were validated by judges and by people with hemophilia,
making them more credible. In addition to being unprecedented, such technologies
may contribute positively to the teaching-learning process and to increase adherence
to home treatment, allowing people with hemophilia to be protagonists of the
treatment itself, through greater autonomy for the safe performance of care for the
application of the coagulation. It should also be emphasized that the technologies
developed in this dissertation have the consent of the State Health Department of
Espirito Santo to be incorporated by the state health network and will be used in the
researcher´s clinical practice. It is noteworthy that such products were published on
the website of the Federal Nursing Council and the Regional Nursing Council of
Espirito Santo, being pointed out as evidence in the “Featured nursing” chart. Thus,
this study has the potential to generate impact and be applied at the local, regional
and national level as it directs care to people with hemophilia throughout Brazil,
reducing possible complications during the infusion of the clotting factor at home. The
products are available for free on the website of the Graduate Program of the
Professional Master´s in Nursing at Ufes for wide use by nursing professionals and
people with hemophilia.the CVI was 0,96, with only one modification suggestion. For the validation of appearance, ten people with hemophilia agreed to participate in the study, obtaining agreement level of positive responses higher than 80% in both technologies, totaling: 99.2% for the primer and 100% for the infographic. Products: This work enabled the elaboration of an educational booklet and a step-by-step action infographic with guidance on the home intravenous infusion of the coagulation factor to the person with hemophilia, as well as a scientific article on the subject in question. Final considerations: The booklet and infographic were elaborated and validated by judges and people with hemophilia. In addition to being unprecedented, such technologies can contribute to the teaching-learning process and increase patient adherence to treatment. It should also be noted that the technologies elaborated in this dissertation have the consent of the State Health Secretary of Espírito Santo to be incorporated by the state health network and will be used in the clinical practice of the researcher.
